Like many retina clinics, we routinely participate in drug trial clinical studies.  Most studies provide compensation to patients for participation along with travel reimbursement and/or travel services provided.  Most studies are two years long, and new medication studies are always being developed.  You can check this page to keep updated on all studies at Retina Center of Arkansas.

Current Studies with Open Recruiting

Geographic Atrophy (GA) Study

This study is exciting because it doesn’t require intravitreal injections.  This new study medication only requires subcutaneous injections.  Candidates must be older than 50 years old or older.

Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) Study

This study is a masked study to evaluate the efficacy of a medication for patients who have been diagnosed with DME.  Candidates must be older than 18 years of age and have been diagnosed with Type 1 or 2 Diabetes.  Patients who are experiencing a decrease in vision due to DME are possible candidates for this study.

Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Study

This study is a masked study to evaluate the efficacy of a medication for patients who have been diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (NVAMD).  Candidates must be 50 years old or older and have experienced a decrease in vision.
